Olwethu has over 15 years of experience in financial services. She is a CFP® professional and a registered member of the Financial Planning Institute (FPI) and a Certified Integral Coach with the Centre for Coaching at the University of Cape Town (UCT) Graduate School of Business.
She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from GIBS, a Post Graduate Diploma in General Management from GIBS, a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from UFS, a B.Com (Hons) Financial Management from UNISA, a B.Com Financial Management Sciences from UP, an Associate Coaching Course from UCT Business School Centre for Coaching, and a Wealth Management Certificate from INSETA.
She has worked in financial services in various roles spanning financial planner roles and management roles in financial planning within the banks and insurance companies in South Africa.
She is a board member serving as a Non-Executive Director, Chairperson of the D& I Committee, and Chairperson of the Human Capital Management Committee at the Financial Planning Institute (FPI). She is also a Non-Executive Director and Investment and Risk Solutions Committee Member at BDO Wealth Advisers.
She is a seasoned trainer and coach for financial advisers and managers in financial planning and has worked with many managers and advisers alike to shift the manner in which they approach financial planning and to improve performance and build sustainable and valuable practices and client books. She has passed the RE1 and RE5 Regulatory Examinations.
Olwethu is also known to share the stage with other industry leaders in thought- leadership discussions around industry matters. She is passionate about transformation and has a vision to see the industry transformed so that financial inclusion improves.
