Coaching

Coaching guides people through perceptions they have created about themselves and how they communicate with their own being. It is an approach to better the quality of life by observing behaviours of oneself when going through life’s goals, failures, losses and gains, and then acting from a sense of mental, emotional, and bodily awareness and intelligence.

At Pragmatic Academy we approach coaching through the lens of ontological studies. Ontology is the study of being and is an inquiry into the nature of human existence. Way of being is regarded as central to how people learn, function and change and is considered to be the underlying driver of behaviour and communication, as it is where an individual’s perceptual patterns and attitudes exist, many of which can be deep-seated and out-of-awareness.

As a substantive and coherent body of knowledge, this discipline provides a new understanding of human beings and human interaction, which is relevant and applicable to everyday living, working, and learning.

This especially includes a concern for the quality of our existence, much of which is the quality of co-existence in our everyday personal and professional dealings with each other. According to Vaclav Havel, former President of the then Czechoslovakia, “Man as an observer is becoming completely alienated from himself as a being”.  This makes it critical that our being becomes a major focus of learning, so that we may feel more connected with our individual selves, each other, and the environment.

This deep work of understanding oneself is inclusive of understanding one’s relationship with money and how one interacts with money, and how that affects the quality of their whole life.

We, therefore, believe that it is imperative for those who are assisting people on their financial journeys to be aware of their own life stories so that they can take people deeper into their financial and life stories and unlock their wealth creation potential.

“The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavour.”
